Hypermobility of the bladder neck
in response to increased intra-abdominal pressure is the anatomical cause of stress
urinary incontinence (SUI) in women.
The authors make a brief review of physiopathology and classification of SUI, giving
aproach at the use of ultrasound as a new investigative method of lower urinary tract and
helping in the selection and suitable patients for surgical correction and their
postoperative follow-up, describing and comparing the exams technique.
