This article is about a 60 year old
patient, who consulted for recurrent incontinence, without a correct clinical diagnostic
and without a correct paraclinical evaluation; with the consequent therapeutic failure. At
the moment of the consultation, she had a recurrent urinary incontinence. All failures
evaluated, we proposed that the patient be treated with an intra-urethral sphincter
prosthesis. This is an alternative treatment with a high percentage of success and for the
first time in practice in Uruguay. The post-treatment evolution has been satisfactory.
