This new approach of SUI treatment represents a great advance as a surgical armamentarium, because it is a minimally invasive approach, possible to be done with local anesthesia and sedation and in an ambulatory surgical procedure. This means a cost benefit favorable relation.
It is a quick procedure ( 25 to 30 minutes in average), safe, easy to be taught and done, and specially for those patients with multi operations, obese and elderly.
With the TVT we have the advantage of using it in type III SUI, without the inconvenience of abdominal dissection to obtain autologous fascia, which permits a short period of convalescence.
The reports of cure, superior to 90% in a long term5, make this procedure an attractive option for SUI surgical correction.
